Bradley Allen's Last Chance Saloon

BRADLEY Allen feels he is in the last chance saloon if Oxford don't give him a contract. His fears are that he may be forced to retire from professional football at only the age of 30.

Bradley revealed "It's not a nice position to be in but I'm not the only one because there are plenty of players all looking for jobs and in the same boat as me.

"Grimsby wanted me to stay but couldn't find the money and at Brighton it was pretty much the same story. It's a scary time for players and I'm just hoping it works out at Oxford.

"There are no guarantees anymore in football and if I get fixed up I would have to think myself very lucky."

Currently training at Oxford, the former Charlton and QPR striker is hoping to impresses the U's manager Ian Atkins. It will be a shame if Bradley's career perishes in this way. He is regarded by fans here as an honest likeable professional who gave his all for our club.

But unfortunately his time here at Blundell Park was often broken by niggling injuries which meant the Mariners never saw the best of Bradley's skill over a consistent period.
