Livvo Returns!

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 08/10/2002

GRIMSBY town hero Steve Livingstone is in line for a spot among the substitutes for Tonight's game against Ipswich. He was ruled out by doctors until Christmas with a sickening injury that left him unconscious for 30 mins during the Derby game that could also have endangered his life.

But now the doctors have given him the all clear to pull on a black and white shirt again. He's been training non-contact, with no heading, for the last two weeks. But he was heading the ball yesterday and he's under consideration for a place on the bench, confirmed assistant boss Graham Rodger

Grimsby Town are desperate to get Livvo involved after only scoring one goal at home all this season. "He's not too far way from fitness and there has to be a medical involvement as to whether he plays tonight," says Rodger.

"Steve is still suffering short term memory loss which is ongoing but his recovery has amazed everybody at Blundell Park." Graham Rodger went on to say "He's an influential character in the dressing room because things happen around him. Fitness-wise he's fine and he can add a bit of power and presence to the team."

Livvo has lost weight since his injury and had the other worry that he might not play football again.
