Town Pair Released!

WALES manager Mark Hughes has given Danny Coyne and Darren Barnard permission to play for the Mariners against Watford on Saturday. The two players were due to meet up with their international teammates on Wednesday and stay in the Welsh training camp.

With Wales set to play their second European Championships qualification game against Italy next Wednesday night, the Grimsby duo will now go to the Wales camp straight after the Watford match.

This is a welcome boost as Wales are not obliged to release players under the UEFA ruling which states that players called up for either World Cup or Euro championship duty can be retained by the national side up to seven days before a game.

With the small squad Grimsby Town have and no experienced cover for either player the development will help Town out while they attempt to stave off Division Two football next season.
