Bradley Allen

Ahhhh to see an on fire Allen in full flow. Problem was he injured more often than not. Arrived at BP in the summer of ‘99. As luck would have it Lee Ashcroft and Jack Lester decided at that moment to form a partnership that Alan Buckley was reluctant to break up. Allen did wonders as a super sub and took his chances when they came.

The sale of both Ashcroft and Lester promoted Allen to first choice striker by default. Buckley soon went and Lawrence came in. Used as the linkup for David Neilsen and Steve Livingstone, Allen produced the form of his youth......before injury struck. It was only in the spring of ’02 that he returned to his best forming a partnership with Michael Boulding that had division one defences shatting themselves at.

Boulding clearing off to Villa left no room at the club for Allen, despite the fans wishes. Bradley moved around the country attending various trials before agreeing a short term contract at Peterborough. His stay wasn't extended, next stop Bristol Rovers. Again it was a short stay and Allen now looks to be on the football scrap heap.
