Oh Dear! Oh Dear!

GRIMSBY Town Football Club have decided to let Graham Rodger and Neil Woods continue for the moment. The club have not advertised for a successor to Paul Groves, but have received almost 50 unsolicited applications for the manager's job.
Chairman, Peter Furneaux, said that the board are pleased with the way things are going under the reigns of Graham Rodger and Neil Woods.
"We are extremely pleased with Graham and Neil. Let's now give them a go and see what they can achieve."
Rodgers and Woods therefore are in charge for Saturday's game at Colchester and Tuesdays against Luton at Blundell Park.
Now where have I heard that one before? I think it was just after a Mr Lennie Lawrence departed.
One would hope that the there are so many applications, that the board are taking their time in selecting and interviewing, and this statement today does not mean that they are disclaiming now that they never wanted the applications at all.
They wouldn't do that would they? But Peter Furneaux told the Grimsby Telegraph today; "We have had an improvement in form and were unlucky not to get anything last night."
"We spoke to Graham and told him to carry on. There is no point in putting him under pressure. It's a case of him showing us what he can do."
"We have had a lot of applicants for the post, but we never advertised - they have sought out us. We are not letting anyone down by not immediately taking one of them on."
"There are some good applicants - but we don't have to choose any of them immediately. There is no reason to panic."
"Graham has changed training sessions and is instilling his own ideas on things."
