THE Mariners will face their first game of the season on August 7th away to Darlington. They will also play Scunny on Saturday Nov 6 away and at home on Apr 23rd.
Thus begins the season in the 'old' third division, which by sleight of hand of the Football League, has become the second division.
Whatever one calls it, it is sad to recall that we had hoped to have seen the last of that end of the league when we where sitting (somewhat precariously) in the first division only a few seasons ago.
Russell Slade now has the job to get us back on the form trail and looking further ahead than where we are today. Mind you, he has to find a team yet, but an announcement may be made today on a first division player.
One new signing we have is our old friend Harry Haddock who will, once again, grace Blundell Park. Welcome back Harry!! The full fixture list is on the official site at www.gtfc.co.uk at 10.00am this morning.
This site is by the fans, for the fans, and we will consider articles on any subject relating to the Mariners whether it be related to current news, a nostalgic look back in the past, a story about a player, a game or games in the past, something about Blundell Park or football in general.
