Director Resigns at GTFC!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 13/09/2004

MICHAEL Rouse, a director of Grimsby Town Football Club, has resigned from the board and both he and the club have issued a statement.

Rouse said; "It is with regret that I announce my decision to resign from the Board of directors of GTFC with effect from 09/09/2004.

It is more than six years since I first joined the Board and in that time have experienced many triumphs and disasters both in the Boardroom and on the pitch.

Despite the huge damage caused to the Football League by the collapse of the ITV Digital, I believe that the Club is now in a strong and stable position.

With the accession of John to the role of Chairman I feel it is now right for me to devote more time to other interests.

I have thoroughly enjoyed by involvement at GTFC and it has been a great honour to serve my community in this way.

I offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported and helped me during my tenure and of course my best wishes for the new season."

The club's statement said;

"The Chairman and Members of the Board of Grimsby Town Football Club would like to publicly thank Mike Rouse for his contributions and efforts as a Director over the past six years.

Mike leaves the club in a far more stable position than when he arrived.

The Board would like to wish Mike every success in the future."
