The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Who will go down?

Wanted: 420,000 Pounds!

TOWN's fans and the local community have been given a target of 420,000 pounds to find if they are to save the Mariners from administration and possible extinction. Of the £720K owed to the Inland Revenue, the directors have pledged £150K, and the club's day-to-day finances will provide another £150K.

The remaining sum, around £100 for every regular supporter of the Mariners, will have to come from outside contributions.

If the "Keep the Mariners Afloat" campaign fails to reach its target then Town would face administration, a 10 point deduction, possible relegation to the Conference and even the prospect that the club may be forced out of existence.

The Grimsby board regard administration as a last resort. It can be avoided if the fans, and the community as a whole, all play their part.
