Greg Young To Halifax!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 24/02/2005

NEWS from the club today is that Grimsby Town centre back Greg Young will be moving to Halifax once the formalities have been completed.

Mariners Net reports; "Greg Young's move could pave the way for Russell Slade to possibly bring in a midfield player.

The 21 year old defender hasn't been a regular in the Mariners' first team and was loaned out to Northwich Victoria earlier in the season.

Young will move for a nominal fee on what is thought to be an 18 month contract."

Speaking of the move, Slade told the Official Website: "It looks like Greg is going to sign for Halifax. I don't want to get in his way. I would like to wish Greg all the best if he does leave us," he said.

"Hopefully if it does come off for him, that would allow me to strengthen my own squad - perhaps in a different area though."
