RESERVE 'keeper Paul Fraser has been released "by mutual consent" from Blundell Park ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline. The 19-year-old has failed to break into the first team this year, despite regular 'keeper Anthony Williams not having the best of seasons.

Williams is now the only goalkeeper at Blundell Park, and Russell Slade may use tomorrow's deadline to bring in cover for the rest of the season. Williams himself is out of contract in the summer, and Slade will have to decide in the next few weeks whether to offer the Welshman a new contract next season.

  • Town's Youth Team lost 2-0 to Port Vale in the semi-finals of the Midland Youth Floodlit Cup at Blundell Park last night.

  • Both Andy Parkinson and Jason Crowe should but fit in time for the Good Friday trip to Bury. Parkinson had to limp out of last week's defeat to Darlington, whereas Crowe has been recovering from an ankle injury sustained at Rochdale earlier in the month. Stacy Coldicott is a major doubt for the trip to Lancashire.

  • Town fans are petitioning for the club's record appearance holder John McDermott to be recognised in the New Year's Honour List for his services to football.
