Has the Bubble Burst?

HAS the bubble burst? I think that Alan Buckley will take stock of the position the Mariners are in now and put forward to his Chairman a list of requirements to improve upon recent bad performances.

Certainly we cannot put up with any more home defeats like we did against Rochdale, that was a disaster. A club like Grimsby should be producing better results at home against lowly Rochdale, that I am sure off.
Where does Alan Buckley go from here? Well a big start is if he can get Martin Paterson to stay for the rest of the season; he sure is a very good player indeed. In fact he was the only player who escaped the fury of Alan Buckley in his post-match comments.
The main problem is the goals we are leaking, nine in the last three games that really is very dismal indeed. I am sure that the absence of Justin Whittle in the game against Rochdale counted a lot. Whittle is not pretty to watch at times, his distribution could be better but he his not afraid to put his head in the way for high balls that are knocked in the box, or to tackle a opponent when others might shy away. After the Chester game on Tuesday, Town have not got a game until the away Sky televised match against Walsall, who are flying very high indeed. Town can really show what they are worth in that game, every footballer wants to impress in a televised football match, and the Town lads are no exception.
Also by then Alan Buckley may have picked up a few new players in the January window. There have got to be lot of positives around Blundell Park. To be negative is not the answer, we have just got to pull our socks up and everybody battle to help each other out on the pitch and off it as well. The approaching January hearing for the new stadium at the Grimsby Town Hall is also a big challenge to the Football Club. I hope that lady luck goes our way and we get the all important vote to build the new ground.
On the night of the appeal I hope that the genuine Town supporters turn up and behave themselves because if there are any idiots hanging around the Town Hall causing trouble that will not help the club at all; in fact it will help the people who are objecting to the new stadium in big style.
Back to the Mighty Mariners. The results have got to improve and I am sure that in Alan Buckley we have got the right man to at the very least keep Grimsby in this league, and possibly build for a push next year to go for the play-offs - obviously helped by the addition of new players in the summer.
