Andy Parkinson

Pint size, ratty little player who was a shock coup from Sheffield United in June 2004. Came to Blundell Park with a glittering CV from his cup exploits while at Tranmere Rovers.

Parkinson was used mainly as a striker at Tranmere and carried on this role in his first season with Grimsby, where he finished the season as club top scorer, but only with 9 goals.

The following season Parky was placed on the left of midfield, and despite being criticised by some, I never actually had a problem with Parkinson.

He was a troublesome and awkward player, he loved to run at people, but his only failing point was he didn't like to look up.

Parky left Grimsby after his second season and returned to Notts County, where he had earlier bear on loan while on the books of Sheffield United.
