AN early goal for Hull City decided the match last night as Town took on the Tigers at Blundell Park. Their captain, Ian Ashbee, scoring the only goal. This was the first serious pre-season game and Town did well to hold them.
According to reports, Town were overrun by Hull in the first half but in the second played their best football and had a number of chances to turn the game around with shots from North, Boshell and Jones.
Buckley changed to 3-5-2 and again to 4-4-2 giving most of the players some time in the game.
There have been may calls for AB to sign a striker and last night renewed those calls.
Whether that will eventuate is another story.
Town: Barnes, Clarke, Newey, Whittle, Bennett, Rankin, Till, Hunt, Boshell, North, Toner.
Subs: Hegarty, Montgomery, Fenton, Taylor, Jones, Foulkes.Hull: Duke, Doyle, Ashbee, Coles, Turner, Elliott, McPhee, Garcia, Ricketts, Marney, Featherstone.Subs: Myhill, Windass, Delaney, Livermore, Wilkinson, Dawson.
Town's next game is against Grantham Town next Tuesday at South Kesteven. Kick Off is 7.30pm
