ALAN Buckley is still looking to add more players to his squad following the acquisition of three new defenders in the last few days. The new players will allow Buckley to return to a 4-4-2 formation next season, which means a different balance to the team - and squad.

"There are other areas of the team that need looking at and I've spoken to the chairman about one or two things" Buckley told the Grimsby Telegraph.

"We had to take care of our priorities and that is what we have done so far.I've spoken to one or two agents about a couple of players and we'll have to wait and see what now develops.

"But I know that I would like to get one or two other things going sooner rather than later."

Buckley will not reveal his targets but they are thought to include a midfielder and a striker.

  • Town have arranged an eighth pre-season friendly at Eastwood Town's Coronation Park ground on Wednesday, July 30.
