Pre-Season in Devon

GRIMSBY have entered a pre-season tournament in Devon after fellow League Two side Barnet pulled out. Town, who declined to enter the tournament - known as the Errea South West Challenge Cup - last year, will face a number of games against as yet unspecified opposition.

Last year eight clubs entered the competition, and played eleven matches over the course of six days, with matches being hosted at Bideford FC, Appledore FC and Barnstaple FC. The tournament initially comprised of two groups of four, with the top two of each group progressing to the knock out phase. So each team had a minimum of three games.

Last year the following clubs took part: Crystal Palace, Yeovil Town, Torquay United, Kidderminster Harriers, Eastleigh, Chertsey Town, Bideford and Barnstaple Town. Eastleigh ended up the eventual winners.
