Bosh Signs Contract

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 02/06/2009

DANNY Boshell is the latest player to commit his future to the Mariners. The midfielder has signed a two year deal with Town, which will ensure he spends at least five years at Blundell Park.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been at the club three years, and has won the Goal of the Season award in two of them. Bosh has played over 100 games for the Mariners since arriving from Stockport in 2006. He participated in 27 games last season, much of which he operated in as a squad player rather than a first choice in Mike Newell's starting line-up.

A delighted Boshell told Mariners Net: "Hopefully we can push on next season and try and get promoted. I spoke to Mike Newell after the end of the season and there was a couple of things I had to go away and think about.

"I think this club is going places under Mike Newell and I was happy to sign again. He gives you confidence and just wants you to go out and play and express yourself."

Grim Rob Says: It will be interesting to see if Bolland re-joins the club. With Hunt and Llewellyn having departed and Sweeney yet to sign, it's not inconceivable to Town could return to Bosh and Bolly in central midfield for at least some games next year.
