Grimsby v Burton Team News

MIKE Newell will have to make one enforced change against the Brewers, due to the two match ban received by Danny Boshell after the sending off at Hartlepool.

However Nick Hegarty and Robbie Stockdale are still ruled out with their respectives injuries, with the latter's groin strain now feared to be worse than was originally thought. Bradley Wood is likely to continue in his role as Stockdale's understudy at right back, and Newell will have to pick another central midfielder, possibly Jamie Clarke, to replace Bosh.

Nathan Jarman's first outing of the season on Wednesday means Newell is finally able to start with something like the team he envisaged in the summer, and which did so well during the pre-season. Jarman and Forbes should both start in the wide positions

Akpro and Proudlock look likely to spearhead Town's attack although Newell, with so many strikers in his squad, has a number of options even with Conlon suspended.

Defenders Paul Linwood and Matt Heywood have both returned to training after injury but are likely to feature on the bench.

Burton make their first ever trip to Blundell Park with no new injury worries.

Shaun Harrad (groin) has recovered from an injury, whilst mew loan signing Serge Makofo is available following a reserve team outing.

Two absentees will be another loanee, Birmingham's Robin Shroot, who has left the club this week, and long-term injury, winger Keith Gilroy.

One familiar face in the Burton line-up will be Marc Goodfellow, who played for Grimsby during their near-promotion season with Russell Slade. The right winger made ten appearances for Town.
