"No disrespect to the likes of Grimsby..."

Harry Redknapp
From soccernet
"It would also be interesting to know what Soler considers to be a 'major Spanish club'. Atlético Madrid have been sniffing around, and so it would appear that they are therefore major. But Albelda - apparently not wanted by Koeman for footballing reasons, cannot play for any other Spanish club of note - which presumably means someone 'major' enough to afford him. Then again, if he wins the 60 million, he could afford to go where he liked. Grimsby have already left a message on his agent's answer-phone."

Martin Ling
Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling speaking about a prospective pre-season signing, Adebayo Akinfenwa.
"I know both Northampton and Grimsby want him, but that shows the kind of product we are going after. I am hopeful that where we are based and the fact - no disrespect to either Northampton or Grimsby - that we are bigger club in stature than both will swing it in our favour."

St George's Crosses
From the BBC
Comment about the joys of watching England friendlies.
"It's been nice to watch some fantasy football without the added pressure, the St George's Crosses fluttering on white vans from Gravesend to Grimsby (the tattered remains of which would still be clinging defiantly to their aerials come November) and the horrible, empty feeling that accompanies the inevitable England exit."

Plymouth
From the Plymouth Herald
Rob, of Mid Devon, commented: "It's really hard to keep positive, isn't it? I do not want to go back to the old days when we played the likes of Rochdale, Grimsby etc (no disrespect to them), but we are showing no guts or ambition."

Paul Ince
From Sportbox.tv
Blackburn boss Paul Ince speaking after the cup win
"We could have had eight or nine to be honest and that's not being disrespectful to Grimsby because they've come here and had a go and, at times, caused us problems."
