Newell Worst Ever Town Boss

MIKE Newell has the worst record of any Grimsby manager who lasted as long as 54 games. The Mariners won just 13 of these games and drew 12, in all competitions. Only Paul Groves has a comparable record in modern times, but that was in much higher divisions.
Newell's record is in fact even worse when you consider the quality of the opposition he faced. Most of the managers in the list have played at least some of their games in higher divisions than the fourth tier of English football.
Bill Shankly is the greatest ever GTFC manager, followed by Lawrie McMenemy.
