Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Sinclair to Sign!

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 28/01/2010

CHARLTON midfielder Dean Sinclair is to join the Mariners on loan until the end of the season. Sinclair was on loan last season at Blundell Park, and proved to one of Mike Newell's most inspired signings, playing a full part in the Great Escape of 2008-2009 before being forced to miss the last few games through injury.

Another player rejoining Town is Pompey striker Paris Cowan-Hall who has re-joined the Mariners for the rest of the season. Cowan-Hall signed earlier in January, but hardly played because of the weather and eventually contracted glandular fever and had to return to Fratton Park. The 19-year-old has now recovered and should be part of Neil Woods's plans for the rest of the season.

Town boss Neil Woods is also hoping to sign more players in time for Saturday's match at Aldershot.

Woods told the Grimsby Telegraph: "We hope to have two or three deals done in time for the weekend. They could be permanent, as well as loan signings."

One of the players Town are hoping to sign is 20-year-old Blyth Spartans midfielder Mark Doninger, who was once a trainee at Newcastle before being released by the Magpies.

Woods said: "Mark has trained with us and we are looking at him. Mark's career has gone in a different direction to what he would have hoped".

Grim Rob Says Let's hope we can see a repeat of the success we had at this time. A couple of wins and the season could look very different!
