GRIMSBY have signed Irish midfielder Micky Cummins from Rotherham on one-year contract with an option of a further year. They have also agreed a deal with his former team mate Mark Hudson, who scored Town's last goal at Blundell Park at home to Barnet.

Town boss Neil Woods told the Grimsby Telegraph: "Micky has a lot of experience and league games under his belt and will bring that to our squad.

"He's a good character and everyone I talked to about him spoke highly of him.

"He's a good mover up and down the pitch from midfield and will also add leadership in there for us so he's another good signing for us."

32-year-old Cummins has played for Rotherham, Middlesboro, Port Vale and Darlington as well as representing Ireland at U21 level.

Town have also wrapped up a deal this week with 31-year-old Scottish keeper Kenny Arthur from Rochdale.
