The Picture Gets Clearer

NEXT season in the Blue Square Premier League is now looking a bit clearer. Stockport and Lincoln are the new entrants from the Football League. It looks like one of AFC Wimbledon and Luton will be heading in the opposite direction.
The sides promoted to the division are Braintree Town, Alfreton Town, either AFC Telford or Guiseley, and either Farnborough or Ebbsfleet United.
Other than Luton it is fair to say that the Mariners have nothing to fear from any of the sides in the Conference, and if the Hatters stay down it's unlikely that there will be a clear favourite for promotion next season.
Grimsby should be approaching this season as their second in the division with a more settled squad than when they first entered non-league football. However with whole scale changes due to the playing squad over the summer, the Mariners will very much be in the positions of the newly relegated sides in terms of the number of new faces on the books
