Braintree v Grimsby Team News

RIGHT back Gary Silk will miss the game at Braintree tonight, and is expected to be sidelined for at least the rest of August in what is a blow to Town's start to the season. Fortunately Grimsby have a ready made replacement in the form of full back Bradley Wood, who filled in at the weekend.

Silk received a blow to his knee in the first half on Saturday against Fleetwood, and withdrew from the game shortly before half time when it was evident the defender was not going to run the injury off.

The only other absentee is midfielder Anthony Church who is again out of contention with a back problem, but may feature in the weekend game at Braintree.

Braintree, who lost their opening game narrowly at Darlington, have never played Grimsby before as they were promoted last season from the BSS to this level for the first time in their history.

The Essex side have no new injuries but Pat O’Connor is likely to play at right-back again, with regular full back Ryan Peters still sidelined with a calf problem.
