FORMER Rotherham full back Jamie Green is expected to join Grimsby on non-contract terms today. Left back Green, who played under the management duo at Boston, was released by Rotherham in the summer and has not yet found himself another club.

Town boss Rob Scott told the Grimsby Telegraph: "Jamie is a left-back who did really well at Rotherham before he fell out of favour with Ronnie Moore. We had him at Boston with us as well last season."

Grimsby have three first choice defenders out for several weeks, and had been looking to sign someone before the transfer deadline.

Green is likely to start at left back on Saturday at Forest Green Rovers. Prior to joining Boston on loan he made 76 appearances for Rotherham, his home town club.
