Salisbury v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 02/12/2011

GRIMSBY head to Salisbury unlikely to tamper much with their side after the 7-0 drubbing of Stockport in midweek. One enforced changed however is Luton defender Will Antwi is unavailable as he has played for the Hatters in an earlier round. Shaun Pearson is the favourite to replace the Ghanaian.

Serge Makofo is still suffering from an ankle problem, meaning Jamie Green will continue playing on the left side of midfield. In reality he probably would have stayed in the side anyway even if Makofo was available as Town won their previous game 7-0 and Green played a prominent part in his new role.

Salisbury sit just below midtable in the Blue Square South, but they have a good home record having lost just three games at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium this season.

Financially the game could be the biggest match of the season as victory would mean entry into the FA Cup Third Round and a potentially huge tie against a Premier League side. Defeat could leave Town struggling to have any meaningful aim for most of the second half of the season other than ensuring they pick up enough points to avoid relegation
