Elding Found Guilty

TOWN striker Anthony Elding has been banned for two games after being found guilty by the FA of making "gestures" towards Lincoln fans in the match at Blundell Park on New Year's Day. Elding, who denies any wrongdoing against his former club, was also fined £600.

Lincolnshire-born Elding will miss the FA Trophy game against York and the following league match with Braintree. Rob Duffy is likely to come in to partner Liam Hearm up front in Elding's absence.

Elding has not yet ruled out an appeal, although if unsuccessful it could lead to a further fine and ban.

Grimsby beat Lincoln 3-1 in the match to complete a festive double over their county rivals, who their also defeated to win the Lincolnshire Senior Cup in pre-season.

Grim Rob Says: I cannot comment on what Elding said or did, but it's a shame every Lincoln supporter who made "gestures" at Elding doesn't also receive a two match ban from attending Imps games (mind you they'd probably enjoy themselves more if they didn't go).
