Grimsby v Lincoln Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/12/2012

THE Mansfield clash being postponed means Town's team news for Lincoln is very much as it was for the aborted trip to Field Mill on Saturday. The extra time though has given a chance for right back Sam Hatton to recover from a knee injury.

Sam Hatton limped off at Lincoln on Boxing Day with a knee injury, although Bradley Wood is a ready-made replacement for the right back.

There are no developments yet on bringing Ross Hannah back to Blundell Park from Bradford, although news could break at any time one way or another regarding Town's top scorer.

However Bury's Marcus Marshall will now be staying with the Mariners until the end of the season, as his loan deal has been extended. Nathan Pond (Fleetwood) is another player who the managers are hoping to keep at Blundell Park beyond tomorrow's game.

Town are hoping to have the biggest crowd at Blundell Park since Grimsby were relegated to the Conference. Over 7000 fans are expected to watch the return match with the Imps, who Town beat 4-1 away on Boxing Day.

Lincoln, unlike Town, have played since that game, and they lost captain Gary (knee) and defender Peter Gilbert (groin) during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Gateshead. They also dropped their 'keeper Farman against Gateshead who had had a nightmare game in the 4-1 defeat at Sincil Bank.
