New Conference TV Deal
By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 03/07/2013
CONFERENCE football will be shown on the new BT Sports channel for the next two seasons after a deal was struck to show 30 live matches a season from the Conference Premier League. For the last three years matches have been aired on Premier Sports, but that was only available to Sky subscribers.
Premier Sports is also an additional subscription to the main sports channel on the Sky platform and is not available in HD. The new BT Sports channels will be available to a much wider audience and also be shown in HD.
BT Sport will host live broadcasts from the grounds for 25 league matches, plus both legs of the play-off semis and the Promotion Final at Wembley. The 25 fixtures have yet to be chosen, but some will doubtless involve Town meaning some fixtures will be moved.
The value of the deal to the Conference clubs has not been made public.
