Halifax v Grimsby Team News

GRIMSBY have three strikers ruled out of the big clash with Halifax on Tuesday night, a match Town desperately need to get something from to avoid losing further ground on the teams currently occupying the play-off places.

Jon-Paul Pittman and Lennell John Lewis have joined Nathan Arnold in the treatment room after limping off in the home defeat by Torquay at the weekend.

Paul Hurst has been trying to get a loan player but has been unsuccessful so far, and it's unlikely he'll now get anyone in time.

Ross Hannah is the only senior player at the club who is a recognised striker, so Hurst will either have to go with one up front, push a midfielder such as Mackreth or Neilson into a forward role, or call upon a untested rookie striker.

Third-placed Halifax have a 100% record at the Shay this season and they beat Grimsby 4-0 there last season, and they also beat Town at Blundell Park. Striker Jamie Jackson is a possible incoming switch after missing Saturday's game through injury.
