Eleven Players Released

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 09/05/2018

GRIMSBY have released 11 players and offered terms to six existing players. Four young players have been retained via options on their contracts. In addition, seven loan players have been returned to their clubs.

The following players will receive contract offers to extend their time with the club:

  • James McKeown
  • Luke Summerfield
  • Martyn Woolford
  • Danny Collins
  • Andrew Fox
  • Ahkeem Rose

Options have been exercised on the following players:

  • Siriki Dembele
  • Max Wright
  • Harry Clifton
  • Reece Hall-Johnson

The following players have not been offered terms:

  • Ben Davies
  • Nathan Clarke
  • James Berrett
  • Tom Sawyer
  • Jack Keeble
  • Ben Killip
  • Scott Vernon
  • Karleigh Osborne
  • Gary McSheffrey
  • Sean McAllister
  • Zak Mills

Players who were on loan at their clubs have returned to their parent clubs:

  • Jamille Matt
  • Jake Kean
  • Simeon Jackson
  • Easah Suliman
  • Diallang Jaiyesimi
  • Mallik Wilks
  • Charles Vernam

There are five players still under contract with the club, one or two of whom may choose to negotiate a release:

  • Paul Dixon
  • Mitch Rose
  • JJ Hooper
  • Sam Kelly
  • Harry Cardwell

Michael Jolley therefore has a squad of at most 9 players, with 6 more if all those offered terms sign up. It's likely that at least a dozen players will be signed during the close season.
