SEBASTIAN Ring has been given clearance to play for Grimsby and the Swedish left back may go straight into the side given Danny Collins, Akin Famewo, Harry Davis and Alex Whitmore are all missing. It would be a dream start for Michael Jolley's new signing to make his debut at Selhurst Park.

Grimsby will be backed by an amazing 5,500 supporters making the long trip to South London despite the inconvenient 17:30 kick off.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson has said he will rest "six or seven" regular first team players, so the team will not be a familiar one. Striker Christian Benteke though is tipped to start his comeback after a lengthy injury but Jason Puncheon is unlikely to feature as he is agreeing on terms with Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, striker Harry Cardwell has signed a 1-year extension to his contract, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2020.
