GRIMSBY continued their barren run with a 3-0 defeat at Forest Green where they were never in the game. Two goals from Christian Doidge saw Rovers canter to a win and a third by Reece Brown just after half-time effectively ended the game.
Sam Russell, Joe Grayson and Charles Vernam all came into the side. Forest Green took the lead when Doidge headed in Liam Shephard's pinpoint cross.
Doidge added a second just before the break when Russell's save from a free kick fell to him for an easy finish and Brown's low free kick just after the break sealed the points when it evaded everyone.
The one bright spot was the return of Harry Clifton from the bench who went closest to breaking Town's goal drought.
