Pre-Season Concludes

GRIMSBY ended their pre-season games with a final match against League One opposition. The Mariners lost 2-0 at Blundell Park to Siriki Dembele's Peterborough, but gave a good account of themselves and lost to two quality goals.
James Hanson and Harry Davis both came closest to scoring for the Mariners, but good saves denied the pair.
The Mariners have virtually everyone fit after a full pre-season, which is the aim of the exercise rather than winning every game. Only Vernam and Cardwell have been hampered by injuries which have restricted their game time in the friendlies.
The Mariners begin their 2019-2020 campaign next week at Morecambe in the season's opener.
