The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

When Will It End?

GRIMSBY'S miserable run continued with another disappointing defeat which again saw them fail to score a goal. It was a game they deserved something from but they wasted the chances they did have and once again hit the woodwork.

Paul Hurst's Scunthorpe knew one goal would probably be enough and so it proved.

The Mariners may not have a chance to bounce back quickly as their Boxing Day at Macclesfield is in doubt due to the lack of a ground safety certificate which means supporters are unable to attend the game. Macc have already had two games called off and are chalking up points deductions which coincidentally is what may save Town from a 24th place finish.

It's a miserable period for Grimsby who seem unable to dig themselves out of the rut they are in. The early season optimism seems a long time ago, and there remains no sign of a new manager or a takeover.

Meanwhile, Swedish defender Sebastian Ring has departed the club. Ring was brought in by ex-boss Jolley but has struggled to break into the first team regularly.
