Season Opener Postponed by Covid

SATURDAY'S long-awaited opener at Bromley has been postponed due to positive results from PCR tests. The match, which would have been televised on BT Sport, would have seen Town fans able to support their side in a league game for the first time in over a year.

The Grimsby support had snapped up every ticket made available and many more would have watched the game live on TV.

It was also to be Grimsby's debut in the second spell in the National League. Town will now kick the season off a week later when the Mariners take on Weymouth at Blundell Park.

Best wishes to those players who have been tested positive.
