The New Fishy Debate
David Peasgood this week finds Fred and Bert are treading warily around the new fishy site.
Hear their views and YOU decide in our latest 'fishy' poll.
The New Fishy Debate
FRED:
Its posh is this lot innit. I can't believe all the pages.
BERT:
Yeah but a shame it's not really ours like it used to be.
FRED:
Why aint it ours? It's still the fishy
BERT:
Yeah but it's the new fishy and it's owned by a big American company. It isn't as if we can put what we want on it anymore like the old days. Don't you feel we've sold our soul to the devils?
FRED:
Oh I don't know. I bet you find even more of the old traditional moaning and having a laugh on this new site than the old one, for a start more visitors will read it and you have to admit it's got a fantastic content. We haven't sold out, we've just embraced the new future. Even the official club sites are going to be owned by NTL.
BERT:
Yeah but we also get dictated to as well by the bosses at Rivals.com who own us now. We HAVE to have match reports on time and daily news updates, and even us two nattering has to go in EVERY week. What happens when we have an 'oliday or when Rob Sedgwick wants some time off?
FRED:
I don't know. But I can't believe the owners are all that strict. I bet half these new Rivals.com sites fall apart within a few months. This one won't.
BERT:
And another thing. There's no GTISC stuff on this site. That's why we had the old site.
FRED:
Nah. We had the old site cos we love GTFC and cos the official site wasn't what we wanted to read. It was too censored and club controlled.
BERT:
So you're telling me this one won't be censored and controlled?
FRED:
Wait and watch Bert, especially the notice boards. You'll soon see this is as open as any town site you'll ever find. Long may it last
BERT:
Yeah providing Rob keeps his enthusiasm going. But if we don't keep up the standards we don't get paid.
FRED:
What happens to the money we get anyway?
BERT:
After paying for site maintenance it goes to the club. So far we've paid for the Ipswich sponsored game last year and Dave Smiths kit sponsorship. We are due to pay Ravens kit as well soon and after that we'll start clocking up cash in hand towards what we choose next. Maybe the handicapped club.
FRED:
Do we get owt? Us two?
BERT:
Do we buggery.
Now for the vote...
