Messiah in Disguise?

A report in a Danish newspaper seems to indicate that there are serious doubts that Grimsby Town's new striker on loan, David Nielsen, will sign a contract. It is reported that Nielsen was offered a contract and turned it down.

In the interview with a Danish newspaper Nielsen stated he is not in a rush to sign for Grimsby and unconfirmed reports in the Danish press say that Leeds, Leicester and Notts Forest are watching him. Bearing in mind that not all things in the press are always correct, if this report is accurate it may be that the new Grimsby "Messiah" may not stay with us if a bigger club shows interest in him. The interview report says: "David Nielsen is celebrated as a hero in Grimsby and enjoys it after a hard time in FC Copenhagan. "They say that I have changed it for the club, so it's just wonderful to be here right now" tells a very excited David Nielsen after a handful of matches as a loan player in the English first division. "I have scored two fantastic goals in my two first home matches - two of the best goals in my career. It's great to prove that I still can do it, when it have been a bit sad for me in FCK" "The club is very keen to get me on a permanent move, but I want to wait. "They wanted me to sign straight away, after I came her, but I will wait a bit to see what happens. Maybe bigger clubs will look at me. At least this is a big chance for me on a level that is higher than Superligaen. We aren't the best team in the league, but still the team has Superliga-standard, but many teams have real class such as Watford, Fulham and Blackburn" Nielsen says: "I have good statistics with Grimsby. The club only had five points, when I came - now we have 17. At the same time they had four goals from nine matches and were dead last. Now we have a bit of distance from the bottom teams after four wins in my five matches, and I looking forward to meeting Watford and Allan Nielsen on Saturday"
