Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Injury List 20/09/2001

By: Peter Forrester
Date: 20/09/2001

HERE is this weeks Injury List. The casualty list has grown a bit this week, with Town being forced two make two changes on Tuesday night against Palace, and Lennie Lawrence deciding to make a third.

Paul Raven - the ex-Baggie went under the dreaded knife this week and because of this the centre back will be out of action until at least November. It remains to be seen if this will lead to Lennie Lawrence extending the loan spells of either/both David Beharall and Marlon Broomes.

John McDermott - the club's record appearance holder has been suffering from a virus but will be determined to get rid of it before the Stockport match

Tony Gallimore - the left back is also suffering a virus (where do they pick them up?) and is another one hoping to be ready for the battle at Edgeley Park.

Stacy Coldicott - it seems ages since we saw the tough-tackling midfielder but there is light at the end of the tunnel. The shaven headed battler has returned from Lilleshall and started light training again.

Steve Livingstone - Another player who has been out for an age. Debatably being missed more than any other player, Livvo is continuing his rehabilitation program and it is not yet known how long before the big man is back to first team action.

Phil Jevons - After missing Town's thrashing at Selhurst Park the former Everton striker is rated very doubtful for the Stockport game after suffering a groinal strain. This is a pity as it seemed the ex Everton man was hitting the form that made him the top scorer in the Toffee's reserves for three seasons in a row.

Alan Pouton - another player to be suffering a pull in the groin. "Pouts" is also doubted for the next game at Stockport.
