New Loan Star Pringle Has More To Offer

By: Richard Lord
Date: 25/02/2002

GRIMSBY Town's new loan striker Martin Pringle has warned Town's relegation rivals that there's plenty more to come. The Addicks front man, speaking to the Evening Telegraph proposed: "I feel like I can get even better and get more into the game"

Pringle continued: "I hope there's more to come than I showed here. I was hoping to give the fans a goal. I need to be a bit more match fit and get my sharpness back. It was my first competitive game in over a year and I'm pretty pleased. It was very important that I got through nearly the full 90 minutes."

"The tempo is totally different in the first division than in the Reserves. I think the chance I got came a little too early, and it was on my wrong foot!" Pringle also commented on the performance of his fellow team-mate Andy Todd: "He's one of those players who just wants to play football. He never wants to just boot it out."

Grimsby now have a must-win game against Stockport on Tuesday night, and the Swede believes the Mariners just have to concentrate on the job in hand.

"They just need to have a little bit more composure on the ball and not stretch the attack as much. That happens because you want to score that goal so badly. Sometimes you have to take care of the ball.

"I'm looking forward to the Stockport game. It will be good fun."
