The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

The Fishyio: 16-Aug

A WEEK has gone in the season already and we have one point to show for our efforts. The depleted squad will be looking for their first three points against "giants" Derby County.

It's an unlikely scenario though seeing as Grimsby are down to about 15 professionals and Derby County's substitute bench will be worth more than the entire Town first team. Anyway the injuries to hit the squad are:

  • Pouton: Has suffered a badly bruised toe and is perhaps the biggest loss to the team. After Ravanelli complained about the Gillingham game being too rough Pouts could of shown the Italian how rough the Nationwide footie league can be. Ravanelli could have earned his £35k a week then.

  • Thompson: The former Liverpool striker is back in training this week after being out with an ankle injury.

  • Croudson: The "perennial understudy" is showing signs of improvement although he won't be back in full training until October. As I said last week let's pray Coyne doesn't get injured.
