Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

September Player of the Month

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 29/09/2002

HERE we go again another month of football has whizzed by with the Mariners getting their first win against Brighton, so here's September's Player of the Month nominations

Home > 2002-2003 Season > Player of the Month > September

  • Paul Groves (Player/Manager). He has had a up and down month, but stood out in the appalling loss against Chesterfield in the Worthington cup
  • John McDermott (Right Back). Macca has had another consistent month, and won the Player of the Month award for August. So can he win again?
  • Steven Kabba (Centre Forward). A young lad on loan from Crystal Palace, brought something different to out forward line, a good prospect for the future
  • Paul Robinson (Centre Forward). When he's played for the Mariners ,he gives 100%, and had to bide his time with being on the bench when he first arrived on loan from Wimbledon
  • Alan Pouton (Centre Midfield). Pouts wears his heart on his sleeve when he pulls the black & white shirt for the Mariners. The Geordie is always in the thick of things when the boots are flying

Remember you can vote of any these via the Fishy's Question of the Week, and when you read this article if I'm wrong (which I will be) send your nominations for your player of the month to tonyhamilton238@hotmail.com and please send them in then I'll put them forward for October.
