Stan Ban Extended

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 18/01/2005

GRIMSBY Town bad boy Ashley Sestanovich has had his ban extended by the FA to four games after being called up to Lancaster Gate on a misconduct charge. The on-loan Blade has also received an undisclosed fine. Stan had originally been given a two match ban for foul and abusive language.

Meanwhile Ronnie Bull has been given a three match ban for his sending off on Saturday at Leyton Orient. The former Millwall left back was shown the red card by the referee for violent conduct following the O's consolation goal in the 2-1 victory.

Sestanovich (who has already missed one match) and Bull will both be suspended for the Lincoln, Cheltenham and Bristol Rovers League games.

Bull's suspension in particular presents a problem for Town. With Dean Gordon no longer at the club, the only left-sided defender at Russell Slade's disposal is Greg Young, but his natural position is at centre back. To make matters worse Jason Crowe, who has played in Bull's position of left wing back before, is currently injured and unlikely to be available for at least some of the three matches.
