"The Worst Goalkeeper In The Past 30 Years", and we are not kidding either. Can't catch, can't kick, barely saves, can't command a defence, weak on crosses and corners and just about everything.
Williams signed on a free from Hartlepool United in July 2004, after somehow impressing on a trial period at Blundell Park. Williams started bright and looked quite safe, but so did Ronnie Bull and Terry Fleming, and they both got much worse as the season progressed.
Willo was the target of all the angry Pontoonites and was slated and shouted at in nearly every game. At the end of the season Russell Slade finally realised that the Welshman was a hopeless keeper but he offered him a 1 year contract extension, but made no secret that he desired a brand new number 1.
With the attraction of the number 13 shirt at Grimsby, next to nothing, Williams signed a 1 year contract with Carlisle United......God Help Them!
