Steve Kabba

Thanks to Town boss Paul Groves, Steve Kabba saw his career rescued from certain disaster. Kabba was rotting in the Crystal Palace reserves until Groves threw him a lifeline and a 3 month loan deal.

Kabba marched into the starting line up straight away filling in for the injured Steve Livingstone and the departed Phil Jevons who had signed for Hull City on loan for the remainder of the 02/03 season.

Steve made his debut alongside Robert Taylor in the 0-0 away draw with Bradford, and after Taylor's injury he partnered Jonathan Rowan, Darren Mansaram and Paul Robinson up front. Kabba was awesome and at the end of his loan spell, together with the aid of the Grimsby Telegraph, the fans launched a "Stay Steve" campaign, however with hot interest from Sheffield United, Palace recalled Kabba against his own will.

Kabba who admitted he wanted to sign for Grimsby permanently returned to Palace and a few days later joined Sheffield United, where he remains to this day.

Kabba's Blades career has been high and low, with plenty of months spent on the sideline shadowing over his historic performances in United's FA Cup run.
