Irish Midfielder on Trial

SUNDERLAND midfielder Niall Flynn has arrived at Blundell Park for a trial. The 19-year-old Irishman has struggled to break into the Sunderland first team, and is hoping to follow the footsteps of his compatriot Michael Reddy who joined the Mariners last season from the Stadium of Light.
Flynn has never played a first team game for Sunderland
Flynn joined Sunderland from the Youth Team of the Dublin club Belvedere, which has provided many players into the English Football League, including Mark Kennedy (Wolves), Curtis Fleming (Darlington) and Robbie Ryan (Bristol Rovers).
Flynn played for the reserves in last week's 3-1 defeat at Scarborough.
