Beat the Bookies: Week 18

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 29/11/2005

WYCOMBE and Carlisle failed to score the goals I was hoping for last week. I've bet on Wycombe games four times now this season and lost every time - they must be Beat the Bookies' unlucky side!

Home > 2005-2006 Season > Beat the Bookies > Week 18

This weekend Town have a respite from league action whilst the clubs left in the FA Cup compete to be in the coveted Third Round draw. There are some interesting ties and lots of possible upsets. Our neighbours Scunthorpe have a tricky tie at Conference club Aldershot. bet365.com make the Shots 9/4 to win.

Forest have had a miserable sequence in the cups this year. Knocked out of the Carling Cup by Macclesfield and the LDV by Woking, can Chester complete the sequence at the Deva? bet365.com are offering 17/10 for Keith Curle's side to complete a miserable trio for Forest.

The most likely non-league side to beat league opposition however are Conference leaders Grays. The Essex side have been drawn away at League Two club Mansfield, who are struggling this year. Grays, who are a well organised outfit, have only lost one game all season, and won an amazing 7 out of 10 games on their travels in the Conference, losing none. 9/5 for a Grays win with bet365.com has to be the bet of the round in my opinion.

RECOMMENDED BET OF THE WEEK:
Grays to beat Mansfield
