Who Are Ya: Rochdale

By: Richard Hubbert

WITH the new season almost upon us, it's time to cast an eye upon the teams in League Two for 2006-2007. Richard Hubbert turns his attention to Rochdale.

Key PlayerRickie Lambert.Lambert hit 22 goals last season and Rochdale will need him to deliver again this season. The problem may be keeping hold of the 24 year old. If they fail to do that, they will lose their main goalscoring threat, someone who would be difficult to replace.
StrengthsRochdale always seem to be able to score goals. Lambert and Holt, when he was at Spotland last season, were a lethal combination. They can also call upon the likes of Iyeden Christie and young striker Chris Dagnall to come up with a few goals.
WeaknessesDefence. The signing of Nathan Stanton will help to shore up a shaky backline, but they need to make major improvements if they are going to do anything this season.
Prediction24th. 24th. It's going to be a long season for Rochdale. Just 17 professional players on their books and a reduced budget for boss Steve Parkin spells a struggle.

Next Team: Shrewsbury
