Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Wake Up Town Fans!

I think it about time that we all started to smell the coffee as to what is going on at Blundell Park and get our heads out of the clouds.

I have been a supporter of Grimsby Town for nigh on 50 years and through that time have seen good and bad times but I can quite honestly say that this is the sorriest bunch of "professionals" I have ever seen at the football club.

From the chairman down I have never seen the club run in such a amateurish way. As a club it seems they are making one lousy decision after another. Whether it is the ill-conceived plans to relocate to Great Coates, which has got less chance of success than bringing the Arabs and Israelites together; or the money saving appointment of Graham Rodger as manager whose past record reads like a bad script from a Whitehall farce. Then there is the present squad, if you can call them that, which is so under strength even for this dire league.

What this football club needs is a complete change from the top down and if this means going into administration, so be it. Other clubs have, and have come out better for it. I think it is now time for a fresh look at things and get someone in who knows the basis for success and that is get it right on the pitch first and the rest will fall into place which is clearing not the thinking at BP at the moment judging by what has been assembled as a so called squad for this coming season.

I fear the worse and if are really lucky we will just stay up but ask yourselves, just how far has our club which we used to be so proud of really fallen?
