Willie Sign For Us?

IRISHMAN Willie Boland has arrived at Blundell Park for a trial. The former Cardiff midfielder was released by the Bluebirds at the end of last season, but is lacking match fitness, and will spend several days training with the Mariners.
The 31-year-old made 15 Championship appearances last season, and is a tough-tackling defensive midfielder who is still well regarded at Ninian Park. Prior to joining Cardiff the Irishman played for Coventry City.
There is a possibility Boland could sign a contract in time to feature in Friday night's game against Mansfield, for which Isaiah Rankin (Achilles) is a slight doubt.
