Bottom of the Pile |
Rodger's Dodgy Start

IT'S Official! After just six games in charge Graham Rodger has the worst record of any Grimsby Town manager in history over the same period. Rodger joins a cluster of five managers of 4 points from 6 games, including Alan Buckley, but Town's current boss has the worst goal difference.
If nothing else the table shows how poor a guide the first six games of a manager can be for his overall record, and that there is plenty of opportunity to turn things around yet, if given the time.
Rodger's mentor Alan Buckley, probably the most successful Town manager since the war, is second from bottom of the list. Likewise, the much vilified Mike Lyons stands third in the overall table.

Last season's manager Russell Slade got off to a good start in his first of two seasons at Blundell Park, and his record earns him a respectable fourth place in the table,
Nevertheless Friday's clash at home to basement club Macclesfield represents a massive game for the club. Falling as it does the day after tomorrow's transfer deadline, Town (and Rodger) will have run out of excuses for not picking up maximum points at home to one of the weakest sides in the division.
